Food & Beverage Compression Solutions

Food and beverage production places specific demands on gas quality, process reliability and contamination control. The compressor solution must be engineered according to how the compressed medium interacts with the product, packaging and downstream production equipment.

LMF focuses on two principal applications within this industry: oil-free high pressure Air for PET bottle production and Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) compression for food and beverage processes.

In PET production, compressed air comes into direct contact with the inside of the bottle during stretch blow molding. Oil-free compression, stable pressure and reliable air supply are therefore essential for consistent bottle quality and continuous production.

For food grade CO₂ applications, the compressor must preserve the specified gas quality throughout compression. Materials, sealing systems, lubricants, cleanliness requirements and package configuration must be coordinated with the applicable product and process specifications. The compressor does not produce or certify food grade CO₂; the supplied gas must already meet the required quality standard.

With more than 80 years of experience in reciprocating high pressure compressor technology, LMF develops tailor-made compressor solutions for food and beverage applications worldwide. Every solution is individually engineered according to the compressed medium, pressure and capacity requirements, quality specifications and operating profile.

FAQs

LMF develops oil-free high pressure air compressor solutions for PET bottle production and CO₂ compressor solutions for beverage carbonation, food packaging, processing, cooling and other suitable applications.
Compressed air comes into direct contact with the inside of the bottle during stretch blow molding. Oil-free compression helps reduce the risk of oil contamination and supports consistent bottle and product quality.
No. The compressor increases the pressure of CO₂ supplied at the required quality. Gas production, purification and food grade certification are separate processes unless explicitly included in the agreed project scope.
Depending on the application, gas quality is considered through material selection, sealing concepts, suitable lubricants, component cleanliness and package design. The required measures are defined by the incoming gas specification and downstream process requirements.
Initial engineering requires the gas specification, suction and discharge conditions, required capacity, operating profile, applicable purity or air-quality requirements, installation environment and details of how the compressed medium contacts the product or packaging.
