Mobile High Pressure Compressor Units

LMF develops and manufactures reciprocating high pressure compressors for all gases and gas mixtures except pure oxygen and integrates them into mobile systems for changing locations and temporary operations.

LMF mobile compressor units combine high pressure capability with a compact, transportable package design. Depending on the application, they can be configured for autonomous operation, rapid deployment and operation under demanding ambient conditions.

Mobile Solutions for Different Operating Requirements

Mobile Pipeline Evacuation Units

Fully automated mobile compressor units for recovering natural gas from pipeline sections during maintenance, repair and modification work.

Depending on the unit and operating conditions, up to 99% of the remaining natural gas can be transferred into an adjacent pipeline section instead of being released into the atmosphere.

Mobile Pressure Testing Units

Mobile compressor systems for pneumatic pressure testing of pipelines, pressure vessels and other high pressure infrastructure.

Compound configurations combine a screw compressor for the initial high-volume filling phase with a reciprocating compressor for final pressurization.

Mobile Well Service Units

Tailor-made mobile compressor systems for well stimulation, gas injection, deliquefication, pressure testing and gas transfer at changing field locations.

Technical Capabilities

Depending on the application and mobile unit configuration:

  • Power: up to 750 kW
  • Discharge pressure: up to 400 bar(g)
  • Capacity for pressure testing: up to 40 m³/min FAD
  • Total vehicle weight: below 40 t
  • Ambient temperature range: down to −40 °C and up to +40 °C

P-Pack Mobile Compressor Range

LMF’s mobile P-Pack portfolio covers different power and application requirements

The appropriate unit is selected according to the gas composition, suction and discharge conditions, required capacity, operating profile and transport requirements.

Gases and Applications

LMF mobile compressor units can be configured for air and different gases and gas mixtures. Materials, sealing concepts and auxiliary systems are selected according to the complete gas composition and operating conditions.

Hydrogen compatibility depends on the specific mobile unit, hydrogen concentration and compressor configuration. Suitability must therefore be evaluated for each project.

Tailor-Made Mobile Packages

Depending on the application, a mobile compressor package can include:

  • LMF reciprocating compressor
  • Gas engine, diesel engine or electric drive
  • Cooling and lubrication systems
  • Piping and pressure vessels
  • Power supply
  • Instrumentation and controls
  • Remote operation
  • Carrier vehicle, trailer or transport frame

Engineering, manufacturing, package integration, automation, assembly and testing are coordinated by LMF as a one-stop-shop solution engineered in Austria.

FAQs

Mobile compressor units are suitable for temporary operations, changing locations and field applications requiring rapid deployment. Typical applications include pipeline evacuation, pneumatic testing, well stimulation and gas transfer.
Depending on the configuration, mobile units can be equipped with their own driver, power supply, cooling system and controls for autonomous field operation. Electrically driven units are also available for sites with a suitable power supply.
Depending on the unit, pipeline conditions and operating procedure, LMF mobile evacuation units can retain up to 99% of the natural gas that might otherwise be released during maintenance or repair work.
Hydrogen suitability depends on the mobile unit, hydrogen concentration, materials, sealing concept and operating conditions. Existing P-Pack models have different permitted hydrogen concentrations and must not automatically be considered suitable for pure hydrogen. LMF evaluates the required configuration for each project.
For high-volume pressure testing, LMF can combine a screw compressor for initial pipeline filling with a reciprocating compressor for final high pressure compression. This compound concept balances capacity, pressure capability, package size and weight.
LMF offers established P-Pack models as a technical basis. The compressor, driver, cooling, controls, carrier system and auxiliary equipment are configured according to the specific application and project requirements.
